Happy Tuesday! I hope you're all enjoying this beautiful weather - I couldn't get enough of it over the weekend! This week in math, students kicked off their 5-day Vacation project. Working in groups of three, students are working together to solve the BIG question - "How much does a 5day vacation cost for you and your group members?" They're responsible for picking a destination, calculating the total mileage from Voorheesville to their chosen city, how much it will cost them to drive there based on current gas prices, and how many hours it will take them to get there - and that's just the start!!! Be sure to ask your third grader all about their 5-day vacation, where they're staying, and what they're eating . . . I overheard a couple students mention Oreo ice cream sundaes for breakfast - hahaha! This afternoon in Social Studies, we joined our third grade buddies in Miss Newkirk's class for a little Rain Forest Animal Riddle fun! :) Students worked with their social studies partners to come up with riddles for the animals they're researching for their animal research project. Lets just say the riddles were AWESOME! Students had to draw a picture of their animal on the inside of a piece of construction paper and fold the paper so only a SMALL portion of the animal was showing. They then had to write down 3 clues for students to use to help them guess their correct animal - Miss Newkirk and I were both extremely impressed with what students came up with - great job!
