Okay, maybe not a snow day, but an early dismissal thanks to the weather! It's rare to see an empty classroom with chairs up @ 11:35 AM!!! Enjoy the snow and stay safe! ![]() This morning in class, we talked a lot about the Underground Railroad, as part of Black History Month. We read this amazingly beautiful WORDLESS story, titled Unspoken, by Henry Cole. It's about a young girl who discovers a runaway slave in her family's barn. Be sure to ask your third grader all about the story. They did a wonderful job making inferences about what was happening based solely on the pictures! And finally, if you happen to be roaming the halls of VES, be sure to check your 3rd grader's Waterlilly artwork! Mrs. Vitelli has them featured in the wing outside of the main office!!! Great work!
